Below is the Training Class Calendar

Training is in 3 categories: Advanced for Administration of the County CERT Program and Instructor Training; Intermediate for additional training for CERT Members and Teams; and Basic for entrance into the CERT Program.


Advance CERT Training -Instructors

Currently no State T4 (Train Train-the-Trainers - Management Training for those who teach the T3 Courses and manage the programs)
Local T3 (Train-the Trainer - Training for those who teach the Basic CERT Class and additional Team Training)

Intermediate CERT Team and CERT Individual Training

Additional CERT Council or CERT Sponsor's training or Supporting Agencies for CERT Teams or CERT Individuals is listed below:

Basic CERT Training

If you do not find Basic CERT Training in you area, Please add yourself to an interest list by emailing info@santacruzcountycert.org and include your Name, Email Address, What Fire District (if known), Address and Phone Number.
IF you need to make up a class or two to get your Certificate of Completion, you can attend any class in the list below - be sure to get the class signed off on a transfer form (see the instructor before the class starts).

No Open Basic CERT Classes are yet scheduled.

Basic CERT training (20 hours) is divided into 9 units covering the following topics:

1. Disaster Preparedness

2. Fire Safety (for Small Fires)

3. Disaster Medical Operations Part 1

4. Disaster Medical Operations Part 2

5. Light Search And Rescue Operations (Buildings)

6. CERT Organization

7. Disaster Psychology

8. Terrorism and CERT

9. Course Review and Disaster Simulation

Note: The order the units are taught is up to the Instructor based upon scheduling constraints. Units missed must be made up in another class for 20 hour completion.
